Green Bay Packers (5-5-1) 26, Minnesota Vikings (2-8-1) 26 (OT)
Sunday November 24th 2013 (at Green Bay)
The Green Bay Packers turned to quarterback Matt Flynn midway through the third quarter of their 26-26 tie with the Minnesota Vikings. Flynn entered the game with 8:22 left in the third quarter and the Packers trailing 20-7 after coach Mike McCarthy pulled Scott Tolzien, who had started the last two games. "We were looking for a spark. That's directly what the communication was," McCarthy said. "We thought we had some opportunities early. We have a history with Matt. Did I think he was necessarily ready as far as the amount of reps and everything getting ready? That was not available to him since he's been here, but he went out and played football and did a lot of good things today." McCarthy would not commit to Flynn as his starter for Thursday's game against the rival Detroit Lions. "I don't have [an answer] for you," said McCarthy, who acknowledged he has "no idea" whether injured star Aaron Rodgers will return for the Thanksgiving matchup against Detroit. Flynn passed for 218 yards to help the Packers storm back from a 16-point deficit, but the teams could only muster field goals in overtime.

(GREEN BAY) - The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings played to a 26-26 tie at Lambeau Field. Trailing 23-7 early in the fourth quarter, the Packers scored 16 unanswered points with Matt Flynn under center to send the game into overtime. Mason Crosby and Blair Walsh each made field goals for their respective teams in the extra session, but neither team got much going on offense after that. It was the first tie in the NFL since Nov. 11, 2012, when the 49ers and Rams played to a 24-24 deadlock. For the Vikings, it was their first tie since 1978 against the Packers. Green Bay played to a tie for the first time since 1987 versus the Broncos. Flynn replaced Scott Tolzien early in the third quarter and completed 21-of-36 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown for the Packers, who had lost three in a row. Tolzien completed 7-of-17 passes for 98 yards and added a 6- yard rushing touchdown before being benched. Eddie Lacy carried the ball 25 times for 110 yards and a touchdown for Green Bay. He also caught six passes for 48 yards. Christian Ponder connected on 21-of-30 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings, who were coming off a 41-20 loss at Seattle last week. Adrian Peterson carried the ball 32 times for 146 yards and a score. NOTES: Tolzien made his second straight start for the Packers, who haven't won since Aaron Rodgers fractured his collarbone against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 4...Green Bay cornerback Sam Shields missed the game...Vikings wide receiver Joe Webb (concussion) and cornerback A.J. Jefferson (neck) left the game...Peterson played in his 100th NFL game Sunday. His 9,846 yards rushing is third most in a player's first 100 games (Eric Dickerson, Jim Brown are 1-2).
