(KANSAS CITY) - Derrick Thomas, Chris Martin and Leonard Griffin scored second-quarter touchdowns off Anthony Dilweg's turnovers, leading Kansas City. Dilweg's nightmare got started when Thomas stripped him of the ball on the third play of the second period. Thomas, the 1989 AFC defensive rookie of the year, picked up the ball on the Green Bay 13-yard line, circled left and sped to the corner of the end zone for a 10-0 lead. With about four minutes left in the quarter, Martin sacked Dilweg for a 14-yard loss and knocked the ball free. Griffin, a 272-pound defensive end, scooped it up and rumbled 45 yards for a touchdown as Thomas made a key block near the goal line. Dilweg, filling in while regular quarterback Don Majkowski sits out in a contract dispute, tried another pass on the second play of the ensuing drive. But Martin, an outside linebacker, stepped in front of intended receiver Darrell Thompson and ran 29 yards untouched.
