Saskatchewan 21, EDMONTON 10 (22197) - The Roughies trailed 10-3 after one quarter, but they bounced back for a 17-10 lead at the half, and led 21-10 after three quarters. They allowed the Eskimos just two first downs in the second half. George Reed and Ed Buchanan scored touchdowns for the Roughriders.

Brit Columbia 22, WINNIPEG 13 (17489) - Put on the bench for eight minutes by coach Jim Champion, 35-year old Bernie Faloney recovered from a bruising Winnipeg welcome to direct a Lion comeback. He completed 15 of 23 aerials for 247 yards as the Lions wiped out a 13-point deficit and handed the Bombers their third straight loss.
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 4
CALGARY 39, Winnipeg 0 (22561) - Pete Liske completed 22 of 34 pass attempts for a total of 420 yards as the Stampeders collected 532 yards total offense. He threw two TD passes to Terry Evanshen, one to Gerry Shaw and a 78-yard TD pass to Lovell Coleman. Liske himself scored a second quarter TD on a one-yard dive.
SASKATCHEWAN 18, Edmonton 6 (21673) - Before a record crowd, QB Ron Lancaster passed to Hugh Campbell for a 29-yard TD for the winners with Campbell getting the other major on a ten yard run. Peter Kempf scored all six Edmonton points on a pair of FGs. Riders RB George Reed carried 17 times for 101 yards.
OTTAWA 17, Montreal 5 (24647) - A pair of TD passes to flanker Whit Tucker, covering 29 and 92 yards, led Ottawa to the win. QB Russ Jackson completed 14 of 2S passes for 296 yards. The crowd broke the Lansdowne Park attendance record set last October in a game against Hamilton.
HAMILTON 12, Toronto 9 (25357) - The Ticats scored their third win in four starts on the strength of a TD by Dick Cohee, a pair of singles by Joe Zuger, a convert and a FG by Tommy-Joe Coffey. Dave Mann, on a punt situation,
threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Mel Profit for Toronto's lone touchdown.
